If You Are What You Love And You Do What You Love...
I am literally in awe. I SAW THIS. I WAS THERE WHEN THIS WAS HAPPENING. Well...not in this particular location but I did see this happening right before my very eyes (I was at the barrier...how cool am I?!) just a little over three months ago. It is phenomenal, sensational, fantastical, all the positive words that have a similar structure to the previous ones stated!
These guys are so talented. Charlie, Tom, Urby, Michael, Fred (and Dr. Doug...you're still in the band in my little mind)-I am completely envious of your ability to make something so stunningly beautiful from a series of a few notes and such simple yet heartfelt lyrics. I am going to go hang my head in shame due to my atrocious composition that I must submit for my GCSE Music. But not before I listen to this BEYOND gorgeous song for the two millionth time. Ladies and gentlemen...GIVE A LITTLE LOVE!

A Few Weekends In Outfits...That Title Doesn't Even Make Sense...I'm Awful At This...Seriously...
Over the past few weeks I've had the absolute pleasure of being able to have three of the most amazing experiences in my life. However, because I become completely inarticulate when attempting to describe said experiences, I decided it was probably best if I just posted photos of the outfits I wore. Obviously. That would just be an easy alternative, wouldn't it? So, without further ado, MY OUTFITS!

Noah And The Whale, 9th October. The Overtones and Noah And The Whale are pretty much the only two modern bands that I fangirl over, so seeing the both of them in the matter of a week was really something. Five Reasons Why I Will Never Trust Peter Lorre's Character In A Movie Ever Again
*MAJOR SPOLIER ALERT!*
I have always considered Mr. Peter Lorre as the greatest character actor of all time. There is simply no denying it-THE MAN WAS FABULOUS! Whenever I noted his presence in a film, I always looked forward to his appearance, even if it was only for approximately ten minutes (I'm looking at you, Casablanca!). Okay, so maybe his characters never were the straightest rulers in the pencil case, but they were never entirely horrid-you always knew, deep down, they were alright fellows.
However, after watching one Lorre film (and said film will become known in a few lines time) I fear I may never be able to look at Peter the same way again. Behold, my five reasons why I will never trust Peter Lorre's character in a movie ever again!
1) Anyone who watches Fritz Lang's M and still thinks all Lorre's characters are sound guys seriously needs their sanity and morals thoroughly examined.
2) He peels oranges in the most peculiar way.
3) His voice changes with whichever language he is speaking. I know you may say this is stupid, but think about-you CAN recognise a voice even if the person who belongs to said voice is speaking a different language. But oh no, not with Peter-HIS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! WHAT THE HECK?!
This is him speaking in M. Recognise that voice?! I THINK NOT!
4) His whistling is perfection. I can't trust someone with a perfect whistle.
5) Aren't these reason enough not to trust his characters?!

It actually lasted a year (even if I don't blog as often as I would like to)...you lovely people cannot possibly know how happy I am about this. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
I was hoping to write a longer post but my house has been absolutely manic today, so a proper post will follow and I must accept the award the lovely Miss Casey of Noir Girl passed on to me! A LOT OF STUFF IS PLANNED! IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHEN I ACTUALLY GET AROUND TO DOING IT!

My New Growing Obsession...WITH EDITH PIAF!
I probably use the term 'fan-girl' too loosely. In actual fact, I'm a fan-girl of few things, but when I fan-girl I properly FAN-GIRL. AND I'M NOT ASHAMED TO SAY IT! Among my obsessions, as you can probably tell from my blog, are The (Ever-Lovely, Totally Awesome, Proud To Be A Toner) Overtones, The (Twistin'-N-Shoutin') Beatles, Bobby (I Dazzle You With That Footwork) Darin and Alfred (The Master Of Suspense) Hitchcock. I have no idea why I just put those little...I don't even know what they are...in the middle of my obsessions...it's probably because I'm completely Abby Normal (thank you for reminding me of that, Rosie!)...it's probably not.
(There are more wee obsessions of mine, but I cannot think of them at this particular moment of time.)
But I feel a new passion a-brewin'...and it cannot be stopped...it's rushing through my veins...I sing her songs everywhere I go...and I don't even know what half the words mean...my new object-of-fangirling is...EDITH PIAF!
Even just writing this post I'm singing 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien' under my breath, attempted vibrato and all! IT'S ADDICTIVE! Okay, so maybe I'm just making the sounds she's making most of the time (I'm not fluent in French...YET!), but I find her music so beautifully romantic and powerful. Maybe it's the language, maybe it's the music, maybe it's Edith's unique voice...I don't know, but whatever it is, it has completely got me hooked.
I leave you with my favourite Edith song (oh so very cliché, I know, but it's gotta be La Vie En Rose!), and assure you that you will no doubt be seeing more of Ms. Piaf on this blog in the future.

Very Smooth Moves Going On Over Here! (AKA I'm Ashamed Of My Niamhy Shuffle When I Watch These Dudes And Their Coolness)
First and foremost, I need to apologise for my abandonment of my lovely bloggy-wog. Sometimes school seriously stinks, ESPECIALLY when you've got exams coming up. And you're stressed. And you've got A PILE of homework that just has to be done. But enough of my ranting, onto the point of this post...
Sometimes I am just amazed when I watch certain people perform. They have such a presence on stage, I sit and gaze at them with my jaw skimming the floor. TOTALLY. IN. AWE.
So here are some of the 'smooth moves', as they are lovingly acknowledged in...um...my brain, that leave me longing for slippy shoes and a bit more suave.
Bobby Darin-Midnight Special. If I'm being completely honest, I cannot watch this without ending up in fits of giggles. Bobby is obviously having the time of his life up there! YOU GO, BOBBY!
Elvis Presley-Suspicious Minds. The dude's just cool.
The Overtones-Gambling Man. THEIR SYNCHRONISATION IS TOO ADORABLE. Sigh...
Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor-The Sitting Dance. They are sitting. And dancing. AT THE SAME TIME. Anyone who says this isn't awesome doesn't know the true definition of awesome.
Well, I think that's enough to baffle and amuse your eyes for now. Au revoir, dear friends!

Posh Frock Friday (Even Though My 'Frock' Is Not 'Posh')!
I don't do much on Fridays. Um...let me rephrase that. I do NOTHING on Fridays. Therefore, on Fridays, I rarely wear a 'posh frock'. But I just figured, what the hey! I've been wanting to take part in Kate's little phenomenon for a wee while, so why not now? So, here is yours truly, sporting not a posh frock (and The Best Spectacles Ever Created By Mankind, my beloved geek glasses, which I have continuously raved about on Twitter)!

Happy Birthday, Bobby Darin!
'I want to make it faster than anyone has ever made it before. I'd like to be a legend by the time I'm 25.'
75 years ago today (it's still today in the US!), a little boy with the name Walden Robert Percival Cassotto was born in the Bronx, New York. This little boy was to become one of the most talented, versatile, inspiring, amazing, charismatic and...um...handsome stars of all time. This little boy was Bobby Darin.
At the teeny tiny age of 8, Bobby suffered continuous bouts of rheumatic fever, leaving him with a weak heart and frail body for the rest of his life. The doctors even said it would be a miracle if he made it to 16. So Bobby vowed to all he possibly could in the short time he was bound to have on earth. And that he did.
With a massive career spanning 16 years, Bobby left this world a legacy to ensure he was never forgotten. Bucket loads of awards and nominations (including an Academy Award nomination for his role in Captain Newman MD) under his belt, films to be enjoyed by all, TV performances to be watched over and over, and last, but by no means least, a myriad of songs that will live on forever.
I find it so difficult to find the words to explain my feelings for Bobby. I always either go completely fan-girl over him or I am totally speechless-and on this particular occasion I am sitting on the 'speechless' fence! So I shall let the final words of this post come from the man himself, my hero, Mr. Bobby Darin (yeah, I use this quote ALL THE TIME, but I think they are the cleverest words EVER!):
